Coastal Cities Summit 2012

The 2.5 day Summit addressed emerging risks and opportunities focused on climate resiliency, tourism and transportation. Co-hosted by IOI-USA, the University of South Florida College of Marine Science and the City of St. Petersburg, the goal was to facilitate knowledge sharing between scientists, planners, elected officials, technical professionals and industry leaders. At the one-day session on Rethinking Tourism: Sustaining the Environment and the Economy executives and scientists discussed five international, economically successful coastal tourism redevelopment projects. Hired six months before the conference, Reynolds defined the program, recruited marketing partners, sponsors, invited 60+ moderators/speakers from nine countries, and managed the conference logistics company. The Summit was co-marketed by the Suncoast Chapter of the American Planning Association Florida, who offered 15 hours of CEUs.
